As a new designer...
I am always creating. Whether for work, personal projects, or at leisure, I find myself designing and writing. I remain eager to learn design softwares and continue to develop my skills. As someone who is self-taught, I have much to learn. With each design, I am both proud and seeking new ways to improve my craft.
Creative Ministry

I recently began a ministry page on Instagram, for which I have created content that serves to inspire, challenge, and spark conversation. I particularly enjoy branding aspects such as typefaces and color palettes. This creates a consistency that is memorable and pleasing to the eye. Together, these aspects make for a striking brand that stands out among similar pages in your category.

During my time at Bronx Community College, I have taken lead on content creation for the First Year Program's social media pages. One of the goals of this program is keeping students well informed. Social media provides a creative alternative to email reminders that tend to be left unread in student inboxes.
The purpose of this content is not only to inform, but engage students. We achieve this through calls to action, reels and Instagram Story features such as polls, quizzes and Q&A.

FLYERS
Along with assisting in the development of workshops, I have created eye-catching flyers to market upcoming events to the student population. Over the years, I have seen my creative skills grow through program feedback and monitoring student responses to continually improve my work.
Event
Materials
We find it necessary to provide a healthy balance between academic and social events on campus. With that in mind, our program created the 1st Year Connection, a student organization focused on creating opportunities for connection. I like to elevate our events with unique touches, so that they feel professionally done and students have unforgettable experiences. For our Valentine’s Paint & Sip event, I created an original “mock-tail” menu and drink place cards with named drinks and custom watermarks for our organization.
Educational Videos
During the pandemic, the First Year Program needed to take the information from our PowerPoint presentations and create animated explainer videos that students could watch on YouTube. I had the opportunity to learn the Powtoon Ltd. software and create our YouTube channel. This process included drafting scripts, making revisions based on feedback and recording voiceovers. Videos were created and edited in Powtoon Ltd. and exported to be uploaded to YouTube. These videos are embedded in the curriculum for BCC's First Year Seminar course.

Social media content calendars allow you to plan ahead and create designs while keeping your team in the know! I've learned to organize my team's creation and output by maintaining a calendar for each month.
Track the team's progress with a status bar for each stage of the creation process!
Prepare all aspects of the post -- Caption, Hashtags and Tagged Accounts. Copy, paste, post!
It is the first step and each one that follows that inspire me when starting something new. I am adaptable and resolved to putting in the necessary effort to grasp new concepts. I thrive in communities that welcome curiosity and promote creative expression while providing the necessary resources and support to groom creatives.
